Alternatives to A&E

 

Your accident and emergency department is for people with life-threatening and emergency conditions, such as heart attacks, strokes, breathing problems and serious accidents, for example.

Please help to make sure they can concentrate on helping these emergency cases by using the following alternative services if possible 

 

Minor Injuries Unit at Ormskirk Hospital (West Lancashire Health Centre) 01695 588800

Open from 8am to 10pm- for advice and  treatment of minor injuries and ailments including:  Fractures (broken bones), burns, cuts, insect bites, sprains and strains, sports injuries, minor head injuries, eye injuries and much more.

No need to make an appointment, just drop in.

Open from 7am - 10pm Mon to Fri and 9am - 5pm Sat/Sunday where a variety of minor injuries can be treated

Out of Hours Service 6:30 pm - 8am  01695 588777

The GP Out of Hours service may be able to help or advise you, without the need to visit A&E
